Dear Charlese.
Thank you for this question, it is one close to my heart.
I am well aware of the emotional and physical pain a break up can cause, it's hard to understand how heartbroken your friend is right now.
If you haven’t experienced it yourself, it is incredibly painful, especially when there is another party involved.
However; you can be a good friend, a safe place and person for her to talk too.
One minute she will be crying and next full or rage or sadness.
I noticed my body was also responding to my distress with sleeping and eating becoming increasingly difficult.
There is no simple answer to this one, the only thing that will ease this break up, is time, a good support network, keeping busy and crying whenever needed!
Remind your friend to offer herself as much compassion and self-love as is needed!
Be there for her and in time, this will pass and hopefully she will be back to her happy smiley self!
However; therapy is always a good option while going through the end of a relationship, my therapist, close family and friends have been my rock, full of thoughtful words and encouragement.
You cannot do this alone, so reach out to family, friends and professional support if needed.

What you don't heal you pass on.
Be well,
