Five Years Since Covid-19: Reflecting on Mental Health

It’s hard to believe that five years have passed since the world first grappled with the Covid-19 pandemic. The disruption it caused to our lives — from lockdowns to isolation and uncertainty — changed the way we think about our health, our relationships, and our mental wellbeing.
Recent statistics reveal that more than a fifth (21%) of people feel their mental health is worse now than it was before the pandemic. This isn’t just about the initial shock of the crisis; it’s about the long-term effects of stress, loss, and the shifting landscape of daily life.
For young people under 25, the impact has been especially pronounced, with nearly two-thirds (64%) saying the pandemic made them think about their mental health more. This increased awareness is a positive step, but it also highlights the growing need for support.
Women, too, have felt this burden, with 49% reflecting more on their mental health compared to 43% of men. Whether it’s the pressure of balancing work and home life, or the impact of social isolation, the need for compassionate, accessible therapy has never been greater.
